Commission for Marchday Group at New Lodge Windsor.

A huge old oak tree in the grounds had become diseased and for safety reasons needed to be cut down. The main trunk was kept in situ, it had been growing for more than 400 years and consisted of a beautiful, chocolatey-dark wood and an outer bark surface full of character.  The carvings, which are depictions of wood nymphs who live inside the tree, emerge from the trunk at certain viewpoints. They have a horse companion which lives in the treetop and there is a doorway into the centre of tree with a seat inside'.
